Sum of two numbers is 35 and their difference is 13. Find the smaller number.

The correct option is A 11
Let the greater number be x and smaller number be y.

x+y=35 ....(1)

xy=13 .....(2)

On adding equations (1) and (2), we get

2x=48

x=24

On substituting the value of x in equation (1), we get

24+y=35

y=11

So, x=24 and y=11

Therefore, the smallest is 11.
