Solution

Dear Student,

Sun is the ultimate source of energy. Sun gives us heat and light. This heat maintains the temperature of the earth balanced and life is possible on earth. Plants use sunlight and prepare food during photosynthesis Herbivores organisms are dependent on plants for the energy. Carnivores eat herbivores for getting energy. So energy is getting transferred. Food web is created in which plants are the producer and others are consumers. So at the end all organisms are indirectly using energy of sun.
The sun is the ultimate source of almost all kinds of energy on earth by following reasons :

(1) Fossil fuels are the transformed forms of plants and animals which once lived on the earth and capturing the energy of the sun.
(2) Biomass is a product of photosynthesis where the sun has the major role.
(3) Hydro-electricity depends upon the water cycle which again is dependent on solar radiation.
(4) Wind energy, tidal power, wave power all depend on the sun.
The major exceptions are deep sea communities which depend on heat form.
