Question

suppose for an electrostatic potential if reference point is at infinity is 0 then what will be the kinetic energy if reference pt is at infinity

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

When we bring in a charge from infinity to a certain point, that is the electric potential of that point. When potential at infinity is zero, the potential at the particular point will be the work done in bringing the charge to that point.

The kinetic energy just depends on the electrostatic potential.

12mv2=qV
