Question

Suppose half of a concave mirror reflecting surface is covered with a black soot. how will the image of an object in front of the mirror be affected?


Solution

As all the rays moving from above the principle axis bounces back but rays moving towards lower half part will absorbed hence image is formed having intensity less than its initial.
