Question

Suppose there are two balls of equal mass, shape and size and we apply the equal force on both ,suppose 5N but after when they stop them we see that one ball covers less distance and ball covers more, even all are same (mass, force, shape and size ) Why?

Solution

Given parameters of both the balls are same viz.m1=m2 and radius r1=r2 hence both the balls have same area and volume.
Now we know force F=mass×acceleration and per question force applied on both the balls are equal viz.F1=F2=5N
Thus,m1a1=m2a2
a1=a2 as masses of both the balls are equal.
Now we have found that both the forces, mass and acceleration are equal thus we can conclude from the above proof
that one of the ball was applied with the force of 5N latter than the other
