Momentum is given by P=mv
So the momentum of A is $P_A=50\times 40=200\text{kgm}$
and momentum of B is $P_B=40\times 50=200\mathit{\text{kgm}}$
So both of them has equal momentum. If you apply force for equal time they both will need equal force to stop.
