Solution

Dear student
Let the amount invested at 10% be Rsx and amoun invested at 15% be Rs y.Sum of the amount invested=Rs1200 x + y = 1200y = 1200 - x ...(1)He get 12% on the total amount = 1200 x12100 = Rs144 ...(2)Interest= 0.10x + 0.15y = 12 % on the total amount 0.10x+0.15(1200-x)=144 using 1 and 210x+15(1200-x)=1440010x+18000-15x=144005x=3600x=720So,amount invested at 10%=Rs720And amount invested at 15%=Rs(1200-720)=Rs480
