Question

Suppose you have three bodies A, B and C. When A and B are brought in contact, no heat flows between them. Now when B and C are brought in contact, heat flows from B to C until flow of heat stops. What will happen when A and C are brought in contact?

Solution

First when A and B is in contact , heat is not transferred that means heat content of A and B are equal. now when B and C are in contact, heat transfers from B to C until it becomes equal. the heat content in B is redistributed and it becomes equal to that of C. so now we have heat content of B and less than that of A(since Heat from B has Flowed to C). and C will be having the heat equal to that of B . so when A and C are in contact since C is having a lesser temperature than A heat flows from A to C
