Suppose you have two magnets whose ends are marked as South Pole and North Pole. You have to keep two magnets such that one magnet is upon other magnet and also their North Poles are on same side. How will these magnets behave?
They will move away from each other
They will repel each other as they both are of similar type.
The end that points in the north is called the NorthPole of the magnet and the end that points south is called the SouthPole of the magnet.
It has been proved by experiments that like magnetic poles repel each other whereas unlike poles attract each other.
