Solution

The correct option is A 4356

In this problem volume of mercury will be conserved.

So, initial volume is 43π(1100)3
Final volume of 1,000,000 drops are 1,000,000 ×43π(r)3
Equating 43π(1100)3=1,000,000×43π(r)3
r=110000m

So, initial energy was 4π(1100)2×35×103
final energy is 4π(110000)2×35×103×1,000,000

So, energy spent = final energy - initial energy
= 4π×35×103[(110000)2×1,000,000(1100)2]
= 4.356 X 103 J
= 4356 μJ (1J = 106μJ)
