Sushma invested ₹40000 in her new food business. In the first year she suffered a loss of 10%. She invested the amount left with her in a metal business and made a 12% profit on it. Calculate the overall profit or loss that she incurred.

The correct option is A ₹320 profit
Sum invested = ₹40000
Loss incurred = 10100×50000= ₹4000
Sum left at the end of 1 year
= ₹40000 - ₹4000 = ₹36000
Profit made on ₹36000 = 12100×36000=₹4320
Amount = ₹36000 + ₹4320 = ₹40320
Since 40320 > 40000
Profit = ₹40320 - 40000 = ₹320
