If you keep raisin in pure water raisins absorbs water and swells up.
Reason: Pure water has very very little solute concentration than the raisin, so osmosis occurs, water enters the raisin, and raisin swells up (It is also called end osmosis or deplasmolysis). Osmosis is defined as there is a movement of particles from a region of higher concentration to that of lower concentration. However,
in the case of osmosis, the movement of solvent is through a semi-permeable membrane which is permeable only to water molecules. Hence the answer is osmosis.
