Velocities of pulley P1 and block M are assumed to be upwards. The velocities of points A,B,C,E,F and G are each equal to v as they are connected to M.

l2+l3+l4+l5+l6+l7+l8+l9+l10=constant
Differentiating w.r.t time, we get equation in the form of velocity i.e.
vP1+vP1vvv+0+0vvv+u=0
2vP16v+u=0 ... (ii)
From (i) and (ii)
3u=6vv=u2
