Table salt, NaCl has also MgCl2 as impurity (from sea). The magnesium salt is hygroscopic; that is it picks water up from the air and thus, NaCl becomes wet.
If NaHCO3 is added to table salt, it converts MgCl2 to MgCO3 which is non-hygroscopic salt.
MgCl2+2NaHCO3MgCO3+NaCl+H2O+CO2
