Solution

The correct option is A charcoal
When a solid organic substance is subjected to destructive distillation, a grey, black porous solid is produced, which is named as charcoal. Charcoal is obtained from a variety of sources (such as plant and animal origin). Each type is named after the source from which it is obtained. It is porous and has the capacity to hold air in its pores. So when charcoal is put into the jar containing hydrogen sulphide, it adsorbs (adsorbs –which mean the absorption occurs only at the surface) the gas and therefore there is no smell in the jar.
