STEP 3: Place the compass pointer at A and mark an arc on line segment AB.

STEP 4: Mark the point at which arc intersect line segment as C.

STEP 5: Now line segment is divided into two parts AC and CB.

$AB=4.3$ cm

STEP 6: Measure length of $CB$ using ruler by putting 0 mark of ruler at C.

STEP 7: Hence, length of remaining segment$=4.2$ cm.
