Question

Tan(π÷4+α)+Tan(3π÷4+α) = -1

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
LHS
tan(π/4 +θ) x tan[ π -(π/4 - θ)

as
tan(A+B) = (tanA+tanB)/(1-tanAtanB)
tan(A-B) = (tanA-tanB)/(1+tanAtanB)
tanπ/4 =1
tan(π-A) = -tanA

applying these we get

=> [(1+tanθ)/(1-tanθ)][-(1-tanθ)/(1+tanθ)] = -1
