Tap water conducts electricity where as distilled water does not. Explain why??

Conductivity in water is due to the presence of ions present in it. Tap water conducts electricity as it contains minerals ions like Na+, Ca+2, Cl- etc.
Distilled water does not have ions which is the reason for conductivity.
