(i) SO2 (ii) CO2 (iii) NO2 (iv) H2O

Open in App
Solution

<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> The mass of one molecule of an element or compound is known as molecular mass. It is represented by 'u'.

Molecular mass of SO2= Atomic mass of sulphur + 2 × Atomic mass of oxygen
Molecular mass of SO2= 32+2×16 = 64 u

Molecular mass of CO2= Atomic mass of carbon + 2 × Atomic mass of oxygen
Molecular mass of CO2 = 12+2×16 = 44 u

Molecular mass of NO2 = Atomic mass of nitrogen + 2 × Atomic mass of oxygen
Molecular mass of NO2= 14+2×16 = 46 u

Molecular mass of H2O = 2 × Atomic mass of hydrogen + Atomic mass of oxygen
Molecular mass of H2O= 2×1+16= 18 u
