Babur is considered a national hero in Uzbekistan. In 2008 on his 525th birth anniversary stamps in his name were issued in the country. Many of Babur’s poems have been become popular Uzbek folk songs.
According to the mosque's inscriptions, the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was built in 1528–29 (935 AH) by general Mir Baqi, on the orders of the Mughal emperor Babur.
