Nitrogen and Potassium are two primary macronutrients in plant growth and development.
∙ Nitrogen is a building component of proteins, chlorophyll, and cytoplasm. Its deficiency causes:
1) Retarded/stunted growth in plants
2) Yellowing of plant leaves
∙ Potassium is required by the plant in order to perform several metabolic activities. Its deficiency causes:
1) Development of weak stem,
2) Wilting of leaves
3) Failure of production of carbohydrates
