Periodic law was proposed by Dmitri Mendeleev. It states that, "the properties of the elements are periodic functions of their atomic weight." Elements were arranged into rows according to their weights and into columns based on chemical and physical properties. With the help of this law the classification of elements became much easier and it also led to the discovery of many other unknown elements.
