Night blindness is one of the clinical signs of vitamin A deficiency.
Retinal, a part of the visual pigment, is derived from Vitamin A.
The deficiency of Vitamin A results in the low production of retinal.
This in turn prevents the resynthesis of rhodopsin.
That is why people with night blindness experience poor vision at night or in dimly lit places only.
