Strong electrolytes: The substances that completely dissociate into ions in their aqueous solution or molten state are the strong electrolytes. [1 Mark] They contain mostly ions in their solution. [0.5 Mark]
Example: Sodium chloride, lead bromide, sodium hydroxide, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, and hydrochloric acid. [0.5 Mark]
Weak electrolyte: The substances that partially dissociate into ions in their aqueous solution or molten state are the weak electrolytes. [1 Mark] They contain ions as well as molecules in their solution. [0.5 Mark]
Example: Ammonium hydroxide and acetic acid. [0.5 Mark]
