Tea worth Rs. 126 per kg and Rs. 135 per kg are mixed with a third variety in the ratio 1:1:2. If the mixture is worth Rs. 153 per kg, the price of the third variety per kg will be:
Rs. 175.50
Given ratio is 1:1:2
Let the third variety be Rs. x per kg.
Let us take 1kg, 1kg and 2kg of tea worth Rs. 126 per kg, Rs. 136 per kg and Rs. x per kg respectively.
Total worth of (1kg+1kg+2kg)= 4 kg of mixture is
=126×1+135×1+x×2
=Rs. (126+135+2x)
=Rs. (261+2x) ......(1)
A/Q worth of 1kg of mixture = Rs. 153
∴ Worth of 4kg of mixture =(153×4)= Rs. 612 .......(2)
From equation (1) and (2)
261+2x=612
2x=612-261
2x=351
x=175.5
So, (c) is the correct answer.
