Solution

The correct option is C Ear
The inner ear consists of two systems of canals which are namely cochlea and vestibular apparatus. Organ of corti is located in middle cochlear canal and has hair cells (mechanoreceptors) on its basilar membrane. Tectorial membrane is gelatinous membrane that is found suspended over hair cells of Organ of corti. Vibration of part of basilar membrane moves the hair cells against the tectorial membrane which in turn causes displacement of stereocilia and depolarization of hair cells to stimulate sensory neurons. Correct answer is C.
