Number of saplings required for 2.5 m = 5

Number of saplings required for 1m = 52.5 = 2

Ted has to plant 2 saplings per meter.

Perimeter is the measure of the distance of the boundary of a planar object.

Perimeter of the garden = (10.2 + 11.4 + 10.6 + 8.8) m = 41 m

For 1 m, Ted needs 2 saplings.

For 41 m, Ted needs 41×2 = 82 saplings.
