Solution
Dear Student Temperate evergreen forests are not as dense as tropical evergreen forests and they include highland coniferous trees because of the conditions in which they flourish. Some of those are mentioned below -
They grow in the 25° and 50° latitude on both the hemispheres. The climate here is tropical which does not allow the forest to grow very dense.
They mostly occur in North America, Canada, Central and Western Europe, Siberia, Australia, Scandinavia and Africa. The weather here has a distinguished winter which gives only 4-5 frost-free months for the trees to grow.
The precipitation is distributed evenly throughout the year in most of the temperate evergreen forests.
In highland temperate forests, there are mild winters and the annual rain is more than 200cm.
Coniferous trees are sturdy and can grow in even poor soil conditions and hence they are found in abundance in temperate evergreen forests. Pine and cypress are common trees in temperate evergreen forests.
