Solution

The correct options are
A boiling
C clark's process
By boiling : - On boiling, soluble Mg(HCO3)2 is converted to insoluble Mg(OH)2 and Ca(HCO3)2 to insoluble CaCO3. It is because high solubility of Mg(OH)2 as compared to MgCO3, than Mg(OH)2 is precipitated. Precipitates can be removed by filtration.

By Clark's Method : Calculated amount of lime is added to hard water CaCO3 precipitates out & Mg(OH)2 can be filtered off.
