Solution

The correct option is C 17
Velocity of any ant u=(11k)2k2=12122k
Distance travelled by any ant is given by
s=s0+ut
Two ants are at same position if,
si=sj(ki)2+t(12122ki)=(kj)2+t(12122kj)t=ki2kj222(kikj)=ki+kj22 [kikj]

When i=1
The value of t will be 322,422,522,............,1122(9 values )

When i=2
The value of t will be 422,522,622,............,1222(9 values )
but only one distinct value.
Similarly for i=3,4,5,6,7,8,9 we get only 1 distinct value each.
Total distinct values =17
