Question

Terminals of AC changes at a rate of 50 times per second so it should not have been possible to charge any device as it would get charged and discharged at every second but we fimd that this is not the case. May I know the reason why although the terminals change but the effect of current is not neutralised?

Solution

Rate 50 times per second means frequency of the device.Charging is done by providing current.Current provided is in the form of sine wave. Here 50 is the frequency of the sine wave. This sine wave is converted to DC if the devide requires a DC current. That is why device is not chaarged and discharged continuisly.
When the terminals charge there is a potential difference. This potential difference provides driving force for the current to travel. That is why the effect is 0.
The basics will be more clear to you when you study more in this field.Hope this helps you.
