Solution

The correct option is D 2 dollars
Terry spends 115 of his allowance
on the gaming set.

Now, we know that 115 is a mixed fraction.

We can write this mixed fraction as an improper fraction using the formula:

(Whole×Denominator)+NumeratorDenominator

Here, Whole = 1
Denominator = 5
Numerator = 1

Thus,
115=(1×5)+15=5+15=65

Now,
Terry's monthly allowance = 10 dollars

∴ Amount spent on the gaming set = 115 part of 10 dollars=65 part of 10 dollars

So, the amount will be:
65 of 10=65×10 = 12 dollars

Hence, additional amount Terry spends on the gaming set = 12 − 10 = 2 dollars
