Split tensile test is used to determine tensile strength of concrete.
This test is also known as Brazilian test. In this test , a cylindrical specimen of length $30cm$ and dia $15cm$ is loaded horizontally in between the steel plates of universal testing machine and subjected to a gradual compressive load of $2N/m{m}^2$ per minute upto failure.
