Solution

The correct option is C 2114 L
Initial volume of water=457 LVolume of water used=2314 L Volume of water remaining after using:=(4572314) L

Calculating 4572314 we get:

Whole number part=42=2

Fractional part=57314 =5×27×2314 =1014314 =714 =7÷714÷7 =12

Combining the whole number and the fractional parts, we get:

4572314=212

So, the volume of water remaining inthe jug after usage is 212 L

Now, from this 212 litres, further 37litres of water are drained off.

So, the volume of water remaining afterdraining is =(21237) L

Calculating 21237 we get:

Whole number part=20=2

Fractional part=1237 =1×72×73×27×2 =714614 =(76)14 =114

Combining both the whole number and fractional parts, we get:

21237=2114

The volume of water finally remaining in the jug is 2114 L
