Solution

The correct option is D 24
Total amount of apples bought by Arun = 2 lbs

Amount of rotten apples = 14 lbs

First of all, we will have to convert pounds to ounces.

We know that,
1 pound = 16 ounces

Hence, we will multiply 2 with 16.

So, 2 lbs =2×1 lb
=2×16 oz
=32 oz

Now, let's calculate the amount of rotten apples in ounces.

So we will multiply 14 with 32 oz.

14 lbs = 14 × 2 lbs

= 14 × 32 oz

=8 oz

Hence, out of 32 oz of apples, 8 oz were rotten.

Amount of fresh apples = Total apples - Rotten apples

32 oz - 8 oz = 24 oz

Thus, 24 oz of fresh apples are left.
