Since it is given that all the connections in $Dhruv$ 's circuit are proper and closed, the error could be with:

The LED bulb - it could have been a faulty or broken bulb.

The battery itself - it might be a battery whose chemical content is exhausted or finished.

The solution $S$ which is used to complete the circuit, also plays a major role. If it is not a conducting liquid, it cannot help in making the LED glow. Lemon juice is a good conductor of electricity. But, distilled water cannot conduct electricity, so, it cannot complete the circuit to make the LED glow.
