Iron is more reactive in nature than hydrogen. When iron is made to react with dil. H2SO4 , it can displace hydrogen from the acid to form iron sulphate and hydrogen gas. The reaction involved is:

Fe(s)+H2SO4(aq)FeSO4(aq)+H2(g)

Copper is less reactive than hydrogen. Hence it cannot displace hydrogen from sulphuric acid.
