By remainder theorem, we know thatif a polynomial f(x) is divided by (x - a), the remainder obtained is f(a).

From remainder theorem, when p(x)is divided with x+8,the remainder is p(8).
x+8=0x=(8)

p(8)=3(8)+7=17

Given -17 is a zero of q(x)=2xa
q(17)=0
2(17)a=0
