Question

If two adjacent sides of a rectangle measure (2x2+y) m and (x2y) m, then find its perimeter.

Open in App
Solution

Perimeter of a rectangle is 2 (l + b), where l = length and b = breadth.

Let us consider,
l=(2x2+y)m and b=(x2y)m

Perimeter=2×(2x2+y)m + 2×(x2y)m

= (4x2+2y)m +( 2x22ym)

= (4x2+2x2+2y2y)m

= 6x2 m
