The base of a right triangle is 48 cm and its hypotenuse is 50 cm long.The area of the triangle is(a) 168 cm2 (b) 252 cm2 (c) 336 cm2 (d) 504 cm2

Case of right angled triangle :-

base = 48cm
hypotenuse= 50cm .

By Pythagoras theorem , we get

h2=b2+p2
So ,

p2=h2b2

p2=502482

= 2500 - 2304 = 196


= p = 196


= p = 14
So ,

Perpendicular = 14 cm .

Now area of triangle = 1 / 2 x b x p
= 1 / 2 x 48 x 14
= 48 x 7
= 336 cm2
