Solution

The correct option is A 124 acres
Area of William's land=13 acres

Number of sons William has=4

Area of land each son inherits=13÷4

Calculating 13÷4 using the keepchangeflip method, we get:

Step 1:Keep the fraction as it is13

Step 2:Change the division to multiplication 13 ×

Step 3:Flip the number to the right 13×14

=1×13×4 =112

The land inherited by each of the four sons is 112 acres.

Now, each son divides his portion of land equally between his 2 daughters.

Land inherited by each daughter =112÷2

Calculating 112÷2 using the keepchangeflip method, we get:

Step 1:Keep the fraction as it is112

Step 2:Change the division to multiplication 112 ×

Step 3:Flip the number to the right 112×12

=1×112×2 =124

The fraction of land that each daughter inherits is124 acres.
