Solution

The word 'crypto' means 'hidden', cryptogams are the plants in which the reproductive organs are inconspicuous So, thallophytes, bryophytes, and pteridophytes are cryptogams as their reproductive organs are not clearly visible or distinct. On the other hand, phanerogams include seed-producing angiosperms and gymnosperms, which have distinct and well-differentiated reproductive organs.
