Question

That distribution of electrons in an atom of potassium is what?

Open in App
Solution

A simple way to do this rather all that technical way which is also easy but boring. I can say a interesting way

Take the atomic no. Of element that means it has that many protons and electrons.
Remember this order 1s 2s 2p 3s …. And so on
Now we have to remember that s can have only 2 electrons and p can have 6 d can have 10 and f can have 14
So now all you do is distribute remember to follow the order
So this electron distribution is called hybridisation

And potassium hybridisation is 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4p1
