Let the number of bananas in 2nd bunch be $x$
Then, the number of bananas in 1st bunch =$x+\frac{x}{4}=\frac{5}{4}x$
Therefore, $\frac{5}{4}x-x=3$ $\Rightarrow$ $5x-4x=12$$\Rightarrow$ $x=12$
Then, the number of bananas in $1^{st}$ bunch = $\frac{5}{4}\times$ $12=15$
