Mark two points on the given line by drawing an arc to the given line from the external point
To draw a perpendicular to the given line from the external point the following steps are followed
Step1. Given a line l and a point P not on line l
Step2. Draw an arc from the external point which cuts the given line at two distinct points say A and B.
Step3. Taking A and B as centres one by one and keeping the same radius, draw arcs in the plane not having P.
The arcs intersect at Q.
Step4. This perpendicular bisector of the line segment AB will pass through the external point.
