Let the first term of the A.P. be a and the common difference be d.
a4=3a a+4-1d = 3a a+3d = 3a3d = 2aa=3d2 ...(i)And, a7-2a3=1a+7-1d-2a+3-1d=1a+6d -2(a+2d) =1a+6d-2a-4d =1-a+2d = 1-3d2+2d = 1 From (i) -3d+4d2=1d2=1d=2
Putting the value in (i), we get:a=3×22a = 3
