FBD of the system is given below.


Also assume the acceleration as shown in the figure.
For first block,
Mgsin37T=Ma --- (1)

For second block,
TMgsin53=Ma -- (2)

(1) + (2)

a=Mg(sin37sin53)2M=g10

So the direction of acceleration is opposite to that assumed.
Thus, the acceleration of the system is 1 m/s2
