Solution

Let present age of Madhu's daughter = x year

So, present age of Madhu = 3x years

Given, 10 years ago, the ratio of age of Madhu's daughter and Madhu is 1:7.

So, 10 years ago, Madhu's age = 3x-10 and her daughter's age = x-10

According to question,

x-10/3x-10=1/7
7(x-10)=1(3x-10)
4x=60
x=15

Therefore, Madhu's age = 15 years and her mother's age =3x15= 45 years.
