Let the present age of Rahul be x years and Haroon be y years

Ratio of their ages = 5:7

$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{5}{7}\Rightarrow x=\frac{5y}{7}\cdots \left(1\right)$

$x+4+y+4=56$

$x+y=48$

From equation (1) $x=\frac{5y}{7}$

$\frac{5y}{7}+y=48$

$12y=7\times 48$

$y=28$

put y = 28 in equation (1)

$x=20$

Age of Rahul is 20 years and Haroon is 28 years.
