Richard Phillips Feynman was an American physicist who won Nobel Prize in 1965, basically for his contributions to quantum physics, quantum electrodynamics, and particle physics, as well as quantum computing and nanotechnology. He was born on 11 May 1918 in Queens, New York to Jewish parents originally from Russia and Poland. He was influenced by physicist Robert Wilson to participate in the Manhattan Project, the wartime US Army project at Los Alamos to develop an atomic bomb. He died on 15 February 1988.
